YoungArts
Week
YoungArts Week is a true celebration of the accomplishments and potential of our country’s most promising young artists.
Each January, the YoungArts Finalists arrive in Miami for YoungArts Week, an all-expense-paid week of master classes, showcase performances, exhibitions, enrichment programs, and final adjudications. Year after year, students tell us that YoungArts Week has changed their lives. It is a remarkable opportunity in which young artists not only learn and perform, but bond with their peers in a supportive and nurturing environment that students liken to a family. For many participants, it is the first time they’ve met a large group of dedicated artists their age and with similar aspirations. Many students form bonds that prove invaluable to their developing careers.
YoungArts Finalists are chosen by a panel of artists and professionals who are experts in their fields. The final adjudications are not a competition – YoungArts Finalists are reviewed against a standard of excellence within their respective disciplines, and not against each other.
YoungArts Finalists share an award package of over $500,000 in direct monetary awards and a total benefit package valued at $1 million:
-
Gold Awards
$10,000
-
Silver Awards
$5,000
-
Level I $3,000
-
Level II $1,500
-
Level III $1,000
The Presidential Scholars in the Arts are exclusively selected from the YoungArts finalists.
YoungArts Week 2011 is Sunday, January 9 - Sunday January 15 at venues throughout Miami including the Gusman Center for Performing Arts, the Colony Theater, and the Margulies Collection at the WAREhOUSE. |
