DISTINGUISHED EDUCATORS IN THE ARTS
YoungArts Distinguished Educators in the Arts Program
The YoungArts Distinguished Educators in the Arts
program has been highly respected
for recognizing outstanding high
school educators in the arts since its inception in 1991.
The selection process is what makes
the awards unique. The educators are selected by their students, both past and present. Each YoungArts
applicant provides the names of two
educators who have had the most
profound influence on their artistic
development. These educators have taken an active role in their student’s education, devoting their personal time and energy, often above and beyond the call of duty, to encourage and shape the artistic development of their students.
Once the YoungArts Finalists have been selected by our
adjudicators, two educators who have been nominated by the current year's applicants/participants are selected to receive the YoungArts
Distinguished Educators in the Arts
award. These two Educators are then awarded a $1,000
Distinguished Educator stipend.

Educators in the Arts award, please contact development@YoungArts.org.
